Firstly I started off with the best picture from my evidence of photos, I noticed that my chosen photo looks very sketchy and un-natural, therefore I edited the photos by going on the image option on top. And then select all auto tone, contrast and colour, by this it will make the image feel more softer and calm as before the brightness was very bright and the contrast was very dark.
To get the my masthead "Cinemix" behind my model, I used a pen tool carefully highlighting around the top of where the Masthead stops because we don't need the text underneath his head. I then selected around the text that I needed and joint it, afterwards I right click the shape I made and clicked "Create Vector Mask". By using this mask I have the option of taking it off by hiding it or locking it.
Finishing off my Masthead I have also added a "Tagline" and Extra credentials e.g. Issue No. and Website which will advertise my magazine in terms of what season is being shown and where they could find more about my magazine. Using the font "The Next Font" for the tagline changing the colour overlay to red from black and "Coolveltica" for the rest.
Instead of using text I used the rectangle tool to create a plus sign rather than having a text saying "PLUS!", I did this because it looked very minimal and simplistic. Having too much text would give the impression of a formal film magazine which my audience had preffered.
To complete my sell lines I put in some of the famous actors in the film industry which will be very appealing to a consumer, as some can be familiar with faces they enjoy watching. Then by using the circle tool I added dots in between these names so that it matches with the colour of the Plus giving a house style.
To make my Headline I used the custom shape tool to create a little banner with a red colour overlay matching my house style, also using the font "Coolveltica" named the headline a epic issue linking to the importance of the main focus Uzoma.
After my headline I used the font "Keep calm" for both Uzoma Patrick and Connect with one colour overlay white and yellow. In addition I used the "Coolveltica" for the Starring In, by adding a Drop Shadow opacity of 75% behind it will bring it forward than being in the background makes it more noticeable.
My sell lines where positioned on the right of my model, this is because it will be less noticeable as if it was the central focus. Also I used the rectangle tool to create small headlines behind "On Set" and "First Look", adding a white colour overlay to make the red stand out from the dark background. Using the "Coolveltica" font that is sans-serif makes the sell lines formal to my audience.
Using the same font I filled in some of the most upcoming films that are going to come out soon, as my magazine is aimed at the latest news. To make my sell lines look less free floating off my model, I two very thin lines from the rectangle tool to divide the stories to make my magazine more organised for the reader.
Instead of having sell lines I decided to create long banner that takes up the right side of the magazine. This banner was made as it is a exclusive special from our magazine, using the rectangle tool to create a simple rectangle while using a the pen tool and cropped the bottom of the rectangle as well as highlighting the areas I wanted to keep. Then right-click to create as a vector mask making my desired shape.
Adding another rectangle for the headline as same as my other sell lines, and then used the font "Keep Calm" for the rest of my exclusive special. Changing the no.25 to a yellow colour overlay helps introduce the story as it is a vibrant colour, I also changed Adventure and 2016 to black showing what the Exclusive Special consists of.
Further more I duplicated the first original shape making identical, meaning that there my magazine has more to offer. Then using the custom shape tool I created a arrow separating the two different features, adding a 3% stroke around the arrow indicating downwards. In a separate tab I joined these two pictures together and used the pen tool to create the same shape to slot it under the arrow. To finish that off I used the font "Coolveltica" making text of a free poster and wallpaper inside.
Getting a JPEG of John Wick 2 on the internet, I used the pen tool highlighting top 1/4 of his head as well as the areas I needed. By right-clicking create a vector mask and the selected areas is gone, I wanted this as it makes the image look more realistic as they are a little bit "out" of their image. Then I also got a JPEG of Spiderman : Homecoming and did the same as what I did for John Wick.
After finishing cropping out I duplicated these edited images onto my front cover and positioned them diagonally. Using the pen tool I highlighted around both of his ears individually as well as the area I wanted to keep, this will make the features noticeable but keeping Uzoma as the main focus. Then using the rectangle tool created two sub-headlines with a red colour overlay, while using the "Keep Calm" font and inserted their names in.
